Theresa’s Divine & Healthy Chocolate Hazelnut Spread
Yields 2 cups
1 cup hazelnut butter (250g)
1/2 a cup raw cacao powder
1/2 a cup maple syrup (or more to taste)
1/2 a cup plant based milk (I use vanilla soy milk here)
2 tbsp date paste*
1 tsp vanilla extract
A small pinch of salt
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and process until very smooth.
Keep at room temperature, or in the fridge.
* You can find date paste in health food stores or online, however it is very simple to make, just by blending pre-soaked pitted dates with a bit of water, until you have a soft paste. Do not be tempted to use the dates without blending them first on their own, or you may end up with tiny chewy bits in your spread.
